Adam Egypt Mortimer

Working with FOX and New Regency, I directed a fictional documentary set in the world of Andrew Niccol’s science fiction feature IN TIME about a world where time has become the currency in a population of the ageless. Posing as a kind of Michael Moore like character from the future, I set about making a socio-political investigative piece of agit prop spinning around the proposition “For a few to be immortal, many must die.”


The piece takes place before the start of the feature, and catches most of the main characters in fast, intrusive-styled interviews. Justin Timberlake, as Will, barely has time to stop running while we talk. Cillian Murphy, as a cop, treats me as though he’d rather see me shot than ask any more questions. Amanda Seyfried, Vincent Kartheiser, and Mathew Bomer also star.


A 4-minute version hit the web as the feature hit theaters. A much longer version will come on the DVD/Blu-ray.
